So iam sure all have heard of this product, My headlights where very nasty yellow, I used this stuff and now they look brand spanking new, I removed my lights and spent about 30 mins on each one, Iam impressed, Is there any other ppl who had the same results ? Because iam still up in the air on buying new lenses, I just to know if its worth it and if it lasts.

i just used that a couple of days ago and that kit works the best my headlights were hazy and yellow and i used that kit and they came out like brand new in only 5 minutes

Does the kit include a rubbing compound cleaner, or is it just some "wonder" solution you wipe on? The only way I see you'll get real, long term results is by going at them with a polishing wheel and some rubbing compound or wet sanding them, and then giving them a good sealant wax.

 

Theres another thread about this somewhere. Fromw what i read, theres a product by Meg's or something that issold at Walmart. The users raved about its results and it was a product like BavarianMotorMan said.

Now that I think about it, it may be in the 2000-2003 forums.

 

I've used something similar to this. Except the ones I bought were pads that you could attached to a drill. And all you do is apply the pads right on your headlight and pull the trigger. Works very well. excellent alternative to buying new lense. In my opinion, it was well worth it, $10 > price of new headlights. It also removed scratches as well as long as they weren't crazy deep.

 

True test is if the clearness will last long. From my understanding on this forum and others with members who have used this product or wetsanding, the results have been lasting on average 3 months before a quick polish would need to be applied. But, I'd rather do that then buy new headlights.

 

Ditto the above!! I got the same $10 kit at GhettoZone and 15 minutes later, my hazy and fogged headlights look brand new! This was on a 97 Camry. I re-aligned them, added a relay kit and some 80w/130w Hellas and the lighting is awesome. Gonna do this on my Max before too long.

 

whats the name of the kit that you can buy at walmart?

 

I bought that from advace autoparts it was $20 dollars though. It work really good but its sort of like clear coat nail polish after a while it starts peel or i did it wrong. But its good to try its some impressive stuff also it was difficult because i didnt take the lights off the car, take the lights off the car if you want the job done properly.

 

Did the wet sand and polish on a couple other cars. Worked on the fogs too.

 

You wet sand the lens in 3 steps then polish it and seal it with that kit, been a few weeks so far and still look new.

 

They work fine but in a few months you will be redoing it, I tried them, they work nice but after awhile they get hazzy again.

 

Yeah that kit works allot better than the cheaper 15 dollar permatex kit, and the permatex kit i got only had enough polish in it to do one headlight thoroughly

 

I compounded mine, then polished and waxed them. Not bad enough to require wetsanding, although I had to do it to a previous car.

Once you get the headlights clear again, make sure every time you polish and wax your car, you remember to do the headlights.

 

I got some stuff from the store the other day from a recommendation in another thread. I forgot what the stuff is called, something-X.

Anyways my headlights look like brand new now! They were hazy before.

 

Meguiar's Plastic-X? i just used it on mine... headlights look great now.. no more scratches or fog.. but after reading this thread im thinking it may not last too long.. lol

You might also be talking about the Permatex kit at Autozone. $15 for that vs. $600 for the headlight? Totally worth it!

 

On the acura forums I used to read, we all sanded and clear coated. Is there a reason not to do that on max lights, or is it just because its a PITA?
