New personal best 1/8th mile

Ran some better times today, still no good launch. My slicks don't hook very well like they used to all motor, I think they are too small now. I can run 1.9x 60 ft times on my nitto drag radials, my best on the slicks was a 1.87, and I missed 3rd gear on that pass so it was no good. If I can figure out how to get back in the 1.7x times, I think the car will run really well.

Same mods as before with the exception of an intercooler and 3.125 pulley on the S/C, and new control arm bushings and motor mounts.

Congrats on the times. I think I speak for everyone when I say I can't wait to see even better times with some better 60's!

1/4?
What size tires & wheels do you run up front?
My setup will be similar to yours:
3.5 /cams/turbo/ 5 spd vlsd 500whp goal:stfu:.lol.... .Any hoot
I've been looking at 14lb 16"x 8"wide rims paired with 245or255/5016 drag radials. I wonder how that will turn out
Also some
26" X 10.5" - 16"LT slicks with around 10 psi

whoa nice traps and pretty nice ET even though you didn't get the launch you wanted.

what slicks and pressure do you run? what pulley did you have when you ran and dyno'd before?

The slicks are my old 24.5x8-15 on stock nissan sawblades. I have cut many 1.74-1.76 on them when I was all motor, but all they do is spin now. I started around 18 psi and worked my way down to 13 psi and they worked better, but still not great. I cut one 1.87, but missed 3rd gear.

I was on the 3.6 pulley non-intercooled when I dynoed 366 hp, I was getting around 6 psi. On the 3.125 pulley with the intercooler I am getting around 8.5-almost 9 psi.

I really don't think it will be a big problem, especially if I get a decent launch. The last time I went to the 1/4 when my clutch was slipping at every shift, I went from an 8.36 --> 12.73. That is a 1.52 multiplier, which would make this 7.92 1/8th mile close to a 12.05 1/4 mile on a clean run.

Man great runs. As you know I'm running a VERY similiar 4.5 V2 setup (rev up cams, semi-built motor) I'm debating whether or not to bump the boost up to a 3.33 pulley. Hows the engine holding up, leaks? Did you have to pull any timing?

You should have no problems running a 3.33 pulley. I have the JWT S/C ecu with the 100 octane timing map. I didn't change it, but I am getting no detonation at all and it runs great. Thats the reason I added an intercooler was to lower the heat input into the engine. I plan to go down one more pulley size and then I will be done.

Nice slips for sure Matt, but like others said, I'm waiting for a "full" pass.

I know I know. I am 15 minutes from the 1/8th mile track, and 2 hours from the 1/4 mile track. I am waiting on a group of locals to go with trailers in case I break. I used to have no problems going to the 1/4, but now I am always worried about breaking and being a long way from home... 1/4 mile times to come soon...

i definitely think you can get into the 11s with no problem, but I don't think that 1.52 multiplier will work on a clean pass. that's way lower than I've ever experienced on a clean pass (and lower than I've ever heard anyone mention).

have you ever tried running less than 13psi in the slicks? i always liked 11-11.5.

What was the multiplier on your best pass? The clutch slipping on that run could be throwing it off a little for me. I have run less air one time in the slicks, but I really don't like the way the car feels down the track with that little air in the tires.

looks like it was 1.534 - lower than I would have expected actually, but I never did the multiplers for the passes I made that day. I was basing what I said off the NA runs I did back in the day, but I guess cars like ours that have traction problems then make a big charge on the top end can use something a bit lower. Disregard what I said, carry on
