VQ in third Gen?

I am not sure if it has been discussed, but seeing as how there is a 96' VQ on sale on Ebay right now and the top bid is only $63. No reserve. I was wondering, legistically, if it's possible to swap out a VQ for a VE?

I don't like my VTC's, and I do love the torque of the VQ. I was just wondering if this has been attempted at all? I would also have to assume that the VQ is lighter? I am not seeing much of a problem here, it's the same size engine...

please give me good news.!!!

it would probably work, the engine bays look similar...
but it would be a lot of work.
the gains would be pretty good, i think, because
our VE's are pretty respectable compared
to the VQ 4th gens stock for stock, but if we
were to drop in the lighter engine with more torque,
we'd probably be able to whoop on some... not quite sure

third gen with a vq? that would be tight!

I think you're better off getting a vg30et swap. Imho performace gains might be negligible with the vq. Why would you swap for a mere 15 ft/lb of torque?

well... gains in a VQ would be pretty big
we'd have the power of the VQ and the better build
of the 3rd gen body
seriously though, there are a lot more mods and
there are a lot more possibilities for the VQ engine
i've never seen a VG30ET swap, but i'd imagine it wouldn't
be an easy drop in or more people would have done it already...

plus on top of that, you get the merit of it never being tried
before...

basically everything would be custom...from the wiring to the engine mounts. also finding a tranny that would work...axles may be different lengths. ECU and engine management will be needed. the ad lists engine..but to transplant u need the other stuff..MAF and temp sensors..etc etc. all wiring will be cut and splice basis. and finally clearance of certain components still want AC in the car? gotta switch compressors or redo all the lines and etc.
if you have the time...it can be done. labor would be through the roof but you have yourself a VQ in a 3rd gen.

but in all reality, is this a plausible thing to do? or should I just try to turbo the thing with Czar's help?

Turbo's are cool! but man, VQ has so much more versatility, thanks to the after market.

Just jerkin' your chain man.

Dude, I am still envious of the 4th gens. I would love that freakin' engine. Man, that would be the ultimate maxima to me. The build and inherent quality of the 3rd gen(I have independent rear suspension and an LSD!) and the smoothness of the fifty time a year award winning VQ powerplant. Dude, I would love that.

hey did you notice that 3rd gens even have headliner on the a pillar? you don't! hahahahah....
sorry.
