Tranny...

Is there some sort of normal price to rebuild the tranny? I called in to have Nissan do it... ...OH.. MY... F'n GOD, 2300!!! I asked to buy new or to rebuild and the answer was to rebuild at that price!
So, yah, Nissan, I'll be talking to you real soon about doing the tranny job.

I found a few friends that think it'll be around 1500 to rebuuild it does that seem normal?

Re: Tranny...

$1500-2000 is "normal" ....but you say Nissan only charged you $2300??? thats good considering they usually charge in the $3k+ for a rebuild from what I've heard.....my rebuild was $2000 from Mid Atlantic Engines and included 3yr. warranty and tranny cooler...so yeah $1.5-2.5k is about normal!

...Especially considering Nissan usually tries to make you take a new radiator also because the stock tranny cooler is inside the radiator. Not bad. My rebuild was $2K at an independent shop.
