breaking up after 6speed swap (injector cut out)
OK when I first did my 6 speed swap I tried to make my own cps ring to bolt to the 6 speed flywheel. I made it from a auto timing ring and bolted it to the 6speed flywheel, well that did not work it wolbed and made the cps not read right and cut the injectors after about 4000. The funny thing is it will not happen N/A only boosted because of the quick acceration.
So I had a water jet place make me a ring and it worked great intill 4 days later at the track I over reved to 9660rpms and broke the oil pump. Well I changed the motor out vs changing oil pumps but when I pulled the flywheel I pryed on the fly wheel and bent the new ring I had made. So when I put it back together it would cut out as soon as I would get on it. What happen from looking at the data logs the injectors cuts off when it cant read the ring. The cut out happens only after about 3800-and up but always between 3800 and 4000rpms.
SO I decide to tear it back down and take the ring off the only thing I could see is that a few teeth were barley bent so I put it on a table and tapped them back straight . I put it all back together and drove it and it was fine back to reving all the way up with no cut. I made about 10 passes having fun up and down my road happy that it stop cutting out. Went home and got my girlfriend got her in the car and showed her it was gone and went on to the gas station. I got some gas and went to hit the interstate and bam it cutout at 4000rpms im like ahh SH_I_T its back. Well kept going and drove normal for about 10miles and tried it again and it went all the way through the rps to red line and no cut. So now im like wtf! Well it would not cut but it would make a poping noise like a gun shot or open down pipe would. But I went on about 25 more mile and it was fine for the most part got to my buddys house and showed him it was not cutting out any more. At that time it worked fine SO im now like I wonder why it cut earlier.
Well later that night it goes back to cutting out again every time I try it. Well I went on home wondering what the hell could have went wrong .
So im wondering what could happen to make it not read right now after it was installed working. Could the jwt flyweel be warping? The cps sensor did not move I checked it already! I don’t think any bolts came out let the ring move due to I put them in with lock tight and they have never came out before!
Any ideas any one because the time before I blew the oil pump it work day after day with no problems!
