did I get ripped off?

Well, I guess this question is a technicality since I only paid $60 for 6 used injectors.

Long story short, I bought a fuel rail assembly/injectors off a 97 max (VQ30DE) with the intent of putting them in my 92 (VE30DE) engine to fix two dead injectors. The ebay auction stated that the injectors/assembly were removed from a good/working engine.

well, the package arrived, and I guess I should have expected they'd be 'somewhat' dirty.. anyhow, what concerns me is the broken plastic pieces at the bottom of the injectors.

Of the six received, only 1 had 4 complete plastic parts intact at the bottom.

the rest were missing 1, 3, or all of the plastic holder fittings.

also, i'm not sure what to make of the loose pieces at the top, or their significance.

Basically, what are the chances of these working if I put them in my car? ($250/labour) Would I be better off to buy rebuilds?

Also, how the heck do I get the injectors out of this assembly? They rotate, but wont pull out.

They will still work with busted caps, but don't pay for labor to installl used injectors. Which injectors are bad? If they are in the front bank, you can easilly replace them yourself with 10" vicegrips and screwdriver.

2 and 3 are bad. I figured it's better to replace all 6 since they're so old.

I have a source for new pintle caps, I'll dig around my emails and edit it in.

Ok got it. Email raceguy222@qwest.net from http://www.docinjector.com/, and let him know what injectors/car they are for. I paid $14.95 shipped for 6, and he also has a set of 6 caps and all seals for $19.95.

well they worked! My v4 is now a v6 again!

Thanks for the pintle cap info.. I just decided to put them in as is, as I really needed the car running again this week.
