I pod adapter

Does any one know how much it should cost to install an Ipod adapter to the 2007 max? The dealer quoted me $235 for the adapter and $100 for instalation.

yeah the 07 does have the aux input. You just need to buy the cord at best buy or some place like that for around 20 bucks

Yeah, the AUX input is nice, but with the interface, you can get all of your track information on the 7 inch color display, and you can use the steering wheel controls to change tracks.

Has anyone actually installed the adapter on an 07?? I am about to order one and was wondering if the 07 adapter still plugs into the SAT input on the back of the radio?????

I know on 04-06 it plugs into the SAT input. Is this still the case for 07?? What if you still want SAT radio too??

So, has anyone actually installed an adapter on an 07?? How do you switch to the ipod? Can you still use SAT radio? Thanks.

Sorry if this has been covered, but I cannot search yet.

umm...this is where i chime in lol

alright, i figured i wanted an ipod adapter just like you guys and even though, i could afford 235 $ o w/e the price, i decided not to. i personally would rather spend the same amount of money on another mod but that's me so i decided to go the FM transmitter route.

now FM Transmitter, the moment you hear that - you're like oh hell no but see all this i've been using an AUX cable and the sound quality's been amazing but i'm a wireless guy, i hate WIRES with a passion so recently, a friend of mine hooked his ipod to this

"Griffin Technology iTrip" on his 2000 Honda Civic, mind you his stock system is amazing and once the iTrip set itself to a radio station, the quality was PERFECT, i swear - it sounded like CD-Stereo. The bass, treble, the voice - everything was pounding at comfortable levels and with no hiss whatsoever - simply, crystal clear music. Now yeah, it does sound like i work for them doesn't it? lol but no just yesterday, i ordered this off ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=017

Costs about $50 CAD Incl. Shipping and It looks clean and now i could use my Nano like a remote. Obviously with the sleek looks and small fm transmitter that hooks up to look like it's buillt - in got me wanting this badboy.

If you guys still want to go with a kit, then by all means - do so - obviously, it's much better in terms of functionality as it shows song information, etc. On the other hand, it doesn't bother me.

p.s: We have a stock bose system, so imagine the sound quality on ours, i can't wait to get it and try it out

I've used the iTrip, it sounds like *** as do all FM transmitters. Hardwire is the ONLY option for decent sound quality.

Well here is my experience. I had one when I had my 4th and 5th gen iPod's also when I had my Pontiac GTP. It sounded decent enough, maybe even a notch above decent. But when I got the Maxima, the BOSE system seemed so much more intolerant of the FM sound inaccuracies. I then got the Monster iCar Play which is arguably one of the better FM transmitters out there, it was somewhat better but I still prefer something hard wired so I'm close to buying the AT unit myself. Anyways, if it works for you bro, good! It did not for me.

The cassette adapter works GREAT!

I doubt at volumes up to 70% you'll hear a difference.

I thought my cassette adapter was making somewhat of a hiss when it turn out to be my MP3 player's signal to noise ratio. Using my XM "Xpress" receiver at normal volumes there isn't a hiss whatsoever that can audibly be heard.

The bigger factor will be the "signal to noise" ratio of the device hooked up to the cassette adapter wired input. And yes, the wire can be almost totally hidden going to the cassette deck. You can barely see it in this large picture.
