PT this thread is in regards to the HOOD. Please keep grill posts out of this thread. And please only vote if you are at least remotely interested in actually purchasing a CF grill so we can get an accurate gauge of participation here.

i agree it might look just a lil ricey but it is more out there then just the scoop or oem. both of those look simple and plain. the vents look better and worth the cppl of hundred its going to cost.

I'm into the vents- I think they look really aggressive, not ricey. There's a similar vented hood for the M3 that I've always liked, so my vote is for the VENTS.

I voted scoop, because it will cool the intake down and looks cool too.

FYI guys, just got this in from Creative Auto Designs Inc. I sent him the the 2 pics that Majestic mocked up. Here was his response.

Hello Mack,
A vented CF version would retail around $799 and an OEM approximately $649. Assuming your number is around 10-15, we could probably work out a discount of about 25% off MSRP prices. Thank you!

i dont think the vented hood looks ricey at all , even tho i hate riced out cars i think celica scoop is just whack , i would deff get that vented hood , it's hot , people talking about it being ricey while they have chrome door handles and window trimming , i would make it look japanese , it's not no 300C , if you have a drop , a small lip , and debaged this hood would look very nice , agressive and clean at the same time and when getting the hood that will be barely noticble why the hell pay money for it , AND THERE ARE MORE RICED OUT CIVICS WITH SCOOPS , I HAVN'T SEEN ONE WITH VENTS BECAUSE ITS USUALY ON EXPENSIVE SYLVIAS SKYLINES ETC

i see vents everyday .. but thats because i live in cali where we have 2029230923023092309203929 ricers LOL..

I was one of teh ppl who said it would look ricey... but i dont understand your comment...

"...people talking about it being ricey while they have chrome door handles and window trimming..."

I dont have either... ? haha i have tried to take ALL chome off my car ... everything from grill to trunk emblems

it prob wont go through for ANY of them... they sound VERy expensive ... most ppl are all talk...

if it comes down to it.. i will be in for a OEm style... MAYBE scoop... but im sure this thread will die like the others that have started in the past...we can just keep our fingers crossed and see what happens...

What happened to the reverse scoop? One that faces the windshield vs. the Celica style above.

$600 for a hood isnt bad. I see that the voting is close. I wonder how many people would consider a vented hood if they voted OEM or scoop. Even though the vented is barely ahead, if scoop voters would accept vented, then maybe vented is the way to go. Ill just put my own damn scooop on!!!! . . . . .just kidding

Ok, it's not as bad as it sounds guys. With the GD it would be $600 for the scooped/vented and under $500 for OEM style CF hood. To me, that doesn't sound too bad. Honestly, I don't care who makes it, as long as it's good quality and not outrageously expensive and I'm trying to help out here by giving us some alternatives. Ultimately, I'm open to anything so if anyone knows another company will to do it better and/or cheaper, man I'm all ears!

If the company can make 2 or 3 of teh hoods that would be great. At some point soon we need to get a list of people who are 100% money in hand ready to buy

I like the scoop because if you have the skyview it goes with the body line on top of the car. Seems like you got 50/50 on here. Your car, do what you feel you will like, remember you gotta live with it, but opinions are wonderful. Good luck!

Be honest with ya Mack, with my living/buying situation, I don't pick it up until Saturday. I am stationed in the panhandle, was down outside of Tampa for the holidays with my family so I bought it then, but had to drive back for work. I am loving talking about for sure, but will enjoy it more come Saturday at 1 pm when I get the key, or the inteli-key

I vote vents the scoop looks to much like the celica's. you should try to fit a scoop in the vents just smaller vents like on the impreza 2.5RS.

Guys, I'm trying to get ballpark figures on what Creative Auto Designs would need for a deposit. I'll also see if they are willing to work on both designs since it seems as if we met their minimum (10 to 15 people) for each design. I'll keep you all posted. Majestic if you have any info on your guys let us know as well.

I wish my hood was vented. I don't need the CF, just like the vent look.
