I started up the max and it was misfiring. I popped the hood and there was fuel dripping. Looks like it is coming from the hose on the front rail. I am guesssing this is the cause of the misfire. Look slike I am gonna have to pull the intake to get to the lines.

Yay

oh well I do have gaskets for it already. I just remember pulling the intake off my other max and remembering how very easy the heads of those allen things would strip. At least I have a better idea of how to tackle it.

upon closer inspection it looks like the hose that goes in between the 2 rails is the one that is leaking. Can that one be accessed by removing just the upper half of the intake?

You are removing the plentum that sits on top of the intake manifold, not the intake manifold itself. As best I can recall, you have to take both top and bottom sections off.

yeah thats what i mean plenums i couldn't think of the word. I was gonna say upper and upper upper intake lol. While I have it off I am going to clean the intake. My valve cover gaskets don't leak but i have new ones. I wonder if I should do the front one while I have the plenum off. Or should I leave well enough alone? Also can I seperate the plenum where the throttle body is or will i need a new gasket there too?

Its recommended you replace the gasket everytime you take it apart. Depending on shape you can get away with it.

As for valve covers if they're not leaking...just tighten the bolts down a bit unless you really dont wanna take all this apart again.

No there not leaking at all but I was thinking of putting the new gaskets on since I know my luck. I'll put it back together and then a valve cover will start leaking making me pull the intake off again.
