Freakin bearins are goin bad AGAIN

This will be the third time that my front hub bearings went bad.the first time i did them myself being the first that i undertook a job like that i bought the new bearings. took the inner races out and put them into the old bearing housing. Before anyone gets a chance to say it: boy that was stupid.for the record i have no problem admitting my stupidity. the second time i took them to a local shop had the guy press them out and in.I marked everything just to be safe and sure that everything that was put back together properly.A month late bad bearings again,I got fed up and put the damn thing in the shop.turns out that my hubs where bad.I went out and brought two new hubs. problem solved!?! Not at all. Bearings are bad i hear a humming sound from the right front wheel when everything is turned off and driving the speed limit. I've been using timken bearings. are they good bearings are could something be causing the problem.Second problem instead of starting to threads i thought i squeeze it into one. the ol'girls check engine light came on.I had it scanned it was a code 33 o2 sensor.I ran like crap for two weeks up until today ran like crap this morning,on the way home she was just as smooth as ice. my question is what the hell? im stumped has anyone had this happen to them

My vg hubs went bad (I guess driving too hard) and they would eat up bearing till I swapped in some ve ones. I donno... just my experience. Are you pressing the new ones in? Properly with a press?

he said timken bearings.

as for the o2 sensor, mebe it was covered in soot, and got enough knocked off somehow to
function correctly(see signature)
or it could be a faulty wire problem that has corrected itself for now....

Timken sells some of the best quality bearings. the brand isn't the problem.

You must replace the HUB AND BEARING AT THE SAME TIME. If you don't, one bad part will ruin the other.

I hope you haven't ruined the new hubs yet with the bad bearing on them. If so, then just go to a junkyard and buy a set of spindles for $35 each from a wrecked car and call it a day. that's usually what I do to get a good hub anyway. way cheaper to buy a junkyard one for $35 and tear it apart (and return it for another one if necessary) than to pay the $135/hub from the dealer.

timken used to be among the best, now they have several levels that are all timken. we were handling one of their lines for a while, but the defect rate got too high. it depends on which ones he gets.
unfortunately a name means very little these days. the brands are making lines for the big box places that have their name but are crapola.

My mechanic told me to always replace old moving parts with brand new moving parts. If your looking to keep the car for a few more years he highly recommends that.

sure... your mechanic also makes a lot more money on new parts than he does on used parts.

so why don i just get a new car...
seriously, since i work on my own car, like other people here, I rely on my own observations as to what needs replacement. I have the org and my dad to help me, but if it isnt gouged or over-worn, or anything, it usually doesn't need to be replaced(depending on what part, of course...)

the hubs are pretty steep from the dealer.
IMO stay with the OEM bearings. you know they will last.
the last time i did my bearing there was one bad hub the other was ok.

I replaced both my front bearing with used hub/spindle assemblies from my local junkyard for $25 per side from a wrecked 93 with 100k..

Mileage on the j-yard car is key when buying hubs, stay away from the super high mileage ones, otherwise there is a good chance your going to be replacing bad with almost as bad..Ask me how i know..
