Auto seat belt not working

Getting down to the last few things here. The auto seat belt on the driver side doesn't work. Passenger side works fine, driver side doesn't move at all. It's stuck in the rear position. Driver door switch does work (lights go on) so guessing it's not that.

Where is the motor located anyway? In the center pillar or down in the kick panel?

Do you currently have an FSM? Thats the best place to find those things you always wanna find. If you dont have one let send me PM and I'll direct to you a place where you can get it. Having it will get you answers a lot faster than the org

I thought I had also heard that anything seatbelt related is covered for ever for free.

Seatbelts from 89 on have a lifetime warranty from Nissan.

It is in the owner's manual. I took mine to the dealership and they replaced my front seatbelts (they are all one unit) free of charge.

You have to show them what is up, though. Initially, my dealership didn't want to do the work, but I brought in the warranty book and my owner's manual.

I tried at mine and they refused. I ended up just disabling it, it took like 5 minutes and I don't mind.

Get it covered for free, absolutely. Worst case, you need one quick...I have extra. I pulled the entire mechanism for driver and passenger sides out. It's yours for shipping should you or anyone ever need. I'm not interested in profiting off a safety feature like this.

I guess it would depend on the dealership. I don't know if that is considered an essential part of the safety functions of the seatbelt mechanism. It can't hurt to try.

Got the manual info. Thanks BlooToof.

So another question comes up... what's the "special wrench" they talk about for manually moving the auto seat belt?

Its in that little pouch that is in the trunk with the spare. The lug wrench is in there too.

Oh, you mean the little (missing) pouch? Got three of these cars and none of them have the stupid wrench!

Is it like a hex key or is there something else I can use?

Yeah wierd wrench. Figured out a couple things in the process. Motor was unplugged. Probably due to the fact it drags pretty badly about 1/2 way through the travel.

Think I'll check the one in my parts car and pull it if it's good.

I have a 93 and the seat belts work but I have a problem with the seat belt light that sometimes starts dinging, while fastened and driving. Annoying, to say the least (especially with a date!), but I've neglected to do anything about it because at least it's not the engine light.
