clutch question
clutch question
my clutch is starting to slip and chatter. i was wandering if any of you guys could maybe recomend where to buy my clutch from, or at least what is a good price to pay.(i don't have any mods, and i am not sure of the condition of my flywheel). thanks.
Re: clutch question
i just put a center force dual friction clutch on my car about 3 month ago. i love it. i paid 250 for it plus all the berings. its about 100 to get the flywheel reserfist and ballenced. sorry about the spelling it to early in the morning for me. brains not working
I just replaced my clutch last saturday and i bought mine from nissan for $180 and that was the clutch kit with everything, and i got my flywheel turned for $35, i recommend getting your flywheel turned anytime you replace a clutch. It all depends on if you want a performance or regular clutch, I dont care about the performance b/c im probably going to sell my max next July!
Some people have said bad things about the Centerforce Dual Friction and prefer the ACT (Matt I think?) saying the CF gives out too quickly. Try searching for past posts, or posting a more specific question. (I tried searching for "clutch" a while back and got zip.)
Be aware also, that if you replace an OEM-style clutch with a high performance upgrade, the clutch pedal effort will increase - maybe not much, but it will be stiffer. Also, unless you race/drive hard a lot, or have lots of horsepower-adding mods, you don't even need a Centerforce or ACT.
