QQ: 98 5spd SE Cluster work in 98 Auto SE?

I have a quick question. Does anyone know whether the speedo cluster from a 98 5 speed SE will work in my 98 Auto SE?

The guy I was going to buy from just informed me his car was a stick. I will also try the dealer, but if anyone out there knows for sure, please let me know.

Thanks!!

Ted

I think it should work but you lose the overdrive light since the manual won't have one

It should work and it should have the light in there, if not swap the bulb

** Update **

I appreciate the replies and also wanted to let you know what I learned from the dealer. They advised that the speedo gauges are identical in the Nissan parts book, so that shouldn't be a problem. They were a little skeptical about simply swapping the entire cluster assembly because sometimes wiring harnesses from manual & automatics have stray connectors that could set off random CELs for no reason. Good point above on the O/D light. I totally forgot about that.

That said, once I get the cluster I will just swap out the speedo gauge and cross my fingers that it registers the mileage quoted. Will keep you posted. If all goes well, does anyone need the other white faced gauges? (Temp, Fuel & Tach?)

Take care,

Ted
