FS: 96SE 5spd ECU

I have a 5spd ECU from a 1996 SE for sale. Code on the ECU is A18-E65 EZ7. Tested and works fine. Purchased to send to JWT for modification, but decided to go a different route. If your planning on doing a 5spd swap, you have a GXE and want to get rid of your speed limiter, or you need a spare ECU, this is for you. Paid $150, will sell for $100+ actual shipping to you. Came with a 90 day warranty and I've only had it for a couple days, I'll send the paperwork to you with it. I accept Money Orders or Cashiers checks only, absolutely no Paypal! Check my feedback, you won't find a more honest seller.

Thanks for looking, PM me with any questions.

If you are converting a 95 auto to 5spd, and you use this ECU, you will have no issues. The 5spd ECU does not contain the electrical outputs that sense/control your Auto transmission, so it will not detect that it is missing, and you will not have a CEL (check engine light). You could add whatever you wanted to add to the car at that point, emanage, an afc, etc. The ECU will function exactly the same, it just won't control an Auto transmission. As far as whether or not I can be trusted, please check my feedback. I have been a moderator on these forums for years, you won't find a more trustworthy seller. Thanks.

Matt has been a maxima owner for many years and has served our country via a few visits to Iraq. I THINK he's earned our trust.

I stand corrected on the compatability. Per another of our valued members: "with a 96 ecu in a 95 you would get some evap codes". I believe this depends on exactly when your car was built, as Nissan has always done running modifications to each model year, without ever being real specific about exactly what changed. I want to let you know though, you may get an EVAP code running a 96 ECU. If you are still interested, please send me a PM. Thanks, Matt.

so if i get those code do you think its worth getting that ecu and if i go with the e-mangement can't that system will solve the EVAP code or will that **** my car up.

An EVAP code will not affect driveability, but have a CEL will stop you from passing emissions inspection in some states. An emanage will not get rid of any codes for you.

Really, I wouldn't go through the trouble of registering the car in SC just to avoid inspection for a CEL. If your that worried about the CEL, I would recommend you just find a 95 ECU, instead of my 96. Then you won't have to worry about the EVAP code. Yes, the ECU is from an SE, but the only difference between the SE and GXE ECU's is that the SE does not have a speed limiter. Other than that they are the same.
