Exhaust system failing. Good Setup??

1. Y Pipe is leaking exhaust at the manifold
2. Cat Converter is in bad shape. someone soldered the o2 sensor onto it.
3. Resonator looks fine. Cant tell.
1. muffler is rusting and looks ready to fall apart.

Im in college= broke.

I just want the Max runnin nice and quiet wNO exhaust leaking, but if I could get a performance upgrade Id love too without droppin too much xtra cash.

Im researchin and Im told the ebay SS Y-pipes aint ****. for ex:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-01...ayphotohosting
Cattman headers MAAAAADD expensive@$900 { bonus + 20HP }

Cattman COMPLETE Exhaust System is $1125(no headers but with Y pipe)
95-96 Maxima/I30 w/ all emissions systems
http://www.cattman.com/prod_exhaust.html

dynomax super turbo muffler is PERFECT for $70 ( i dont like attention)

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

should I buy the Catmann headers for $900 + OEM catalytic converter for $75-$125? and finally a quiety dynomax super turbo muffler for $70?

total $1100. is that a good setup for the price??

Headers don't do much on VQ30s, unless you're Cali spec. Just get a y and call it a day. You say it's leaking at the manifold, do you mean y-manifold, or manifold-head?

For a cheaper converter, you can get a high flow online from a number of places.

You could do a full exhaust setup (well, y-pipe and back) for ~$500-600 by going custom catback, high flow cat and a y. That or $1100 your way...your choice.

funny thing is i oroginally went to the junk yard because my flexpipe was horrible. bees in cans galore. But when i had the pipe with the better flexpipe welded on i came to find out that the header manifold (or wherever it connects to the engie) was leaking. SO now i got leaky exhaust. Luckily i didnt pay for the weld job.

Im avoiding problems this way. cuz its not like i can check the y-pipe for leaks.
