Looks like it, at least the tail lights look better and the stock wheels if that's what they'll use.

It's too covered IMO, but it appears very German like; the lines in general look very nice.

Who here wants nissan to stop trying to make every car look like a 350z?

I don't know I have not liked a single new car design for years now. The only one that has come back to the playing field of a good looking car is the new Mercedes C-Class

I'm reserving my judgment until the wraps come off. Come on man, have faith in Nissan. the tail light looks kinda like the altimas. I just hope its not a clear lens. The side profile looks nice though, especially with the Tl-like line on the doors.

Your're kidding about the new C-Class being good-looking right? That thing is just ugly. Too many creases, to many lines, andjust too damn busy. It looks like it should have been in the Transformers movie.

And all those complaining about the 2009 Maxima, how many of you complained about the 6th gen and still bought it? I know I did. All it took was 1 test drive.

they just gettin uglier and uglier........

1st and 2nd gen were decent styling for their era. boxey but sleek.

3rd gen was the first of the 4DSC sport/family sedan - when they decided to go in the sport direction. best part about these was the flat red taillight.

4th gen were better than the 3rd, but still looked flat and wide. slightly more agressive styling, but still chunky. best part about these was the grill. worst part was the tail.

5th gen is the peak of all of nissans products over the years. very sporty and agressive while still having the luxury and ammenities maximas were known for. the grill is decent but the tail is beautiful. i would own one of these if i could afford it.

6th gen was a disaster appearance wise. looked like they were designed by a senior citizen. huge clunkey rear end, disgusting grill. it tried to imitate all the other midrange sedans and failed. the best part about these is the tail lights and even those are lacking.

ive drawn up a graph in case my nonsensical rambling was too difficult to follow

thankfully enough people disagree with you. I always like all gens. reason i bought the 6th. IMO the 6th was the first to stick out from other cars appearence wise. The others easily blend in with the rest.

everyone just needs to accept the fact the way the industry works. each model gets upgraded each year until it bumps up to the next category.
Versa = old Sentra
Sentra = old Altima
Altima = old Maxima
Maxima = Nissan/Infiniti

After five full years (the 6th gen had its public introduction in Jan 2003) in which to cogitate over the styling of all Maxima generations, I honestly feel the 6th gen was a definite 'hit'. Folks are still buying this 6th gen style five years later, and it still catches eyes and approving nods in its last model year. Hard to beat that.

6th gen styling a disaster? Nissan will take any disaster that sells 132,000 copies its first year. Their plan was to move the 6th gen (and all subsequent Maximas) upscale, putting the Altima in the 'mass sales' (250K) category and aiming for around 80K Maxima sales. I would feel they succeeded rather well.

I absolutely love the styling (and everything else) of my extremely reliable 6th gen, and will really really have a hard time letting it go for a 7th gen, which inevitably, I will eventually do.

6th gen to me looks like someone smashed into the back end of it, and nissan was just like "ah what the hell we'll leave it like that"

the new car still looks bulky like 6th gen, but i'll keep up my hopes

i think 5th gens are the best in terms of looks for sure

I'm sorry, but the grill on the 06 model Maxes is horrid.
