ALARMS- dealers? brands?
ALARMS- dealers? brands?
Anyone have any reccomendations other than like Circuit City and BEst Buy in the DC/Nova area for car alarms? I was looking at Clifford alarms. Those who have any alarms, what do you have and what are ure thoughts? Im looking for something fairly basic, shock sensors, and possibly remote start and window opener. Thanks

Good alarms have HIDDEN backup sirens and backup batteries incase the theives also decide to cut the 12V constant wire to the Alarm, which is fairly easy and common.
I say go with a good Viper Alarm or a Clifford, but they are expensive.

Disagree here, All alarms not GOOD!. I know this because I try to break into my own car just to see how good the alarm is. Alot of these alarms dont have battery backups, The siren is right there in the hood, so If I popped the hood, alarm goes off for 2secs until I cut off the siren wire.

Besides, you can add a battery back-uped siren to ANY aftermarket alarm.
Like I said, the install determines the security of the system... If the brain/siren are in plain sight, then it's weak... As is the standard 'override/valet' switch that is put in an 'accessible' area for the customer to reach...
I know this because I'm an installer... and no.. I never put in the valet switch or have the brain in plain sight in any of my own cars...
