After a long hibernation and the max has awaken

I dropped my maxima off to get repaint back in September (warranty work ) and I didn’t get it back till December. I called them many times to find out exactly what is taking so long and their replies were, "we have to may cars to paint and have not gotten to yours yet but we will give you a call when we finish it". So I finally got the call to pick it up and man was I surprised when I saw it. Since I waited so long the guys at Maaco felt they needed to do something so they went ahead and took all dents out, sanded all paint off the body, primed and then painted 3 passes of metallic black paint onto my beautiful maxima. All I can say is I was truly amazed So since were having a heat wave I charged up the battery drove it around the block (not on main roads since I don’t have valid plates, I need to re-register it) and then gave her a nice wash/wax. Over all the car ran great for sitting since September but there are some trany grinding that has gotten worse only because its been sitting . Here are some pictures. I will be probably posting more often since the warmer weather is coming ill be fixing up little things here and there.

Hot damn, looking sharp. Best Maaco job I've seen, ever. They should have touched up the window trim since they went through the trouble of fixing everything else.

Damn, 6 months and it started to peel? At first I thought that was the original respray they did about a year ago. Hopefully it doesn't start peeling again, warranty is probably up soon..

around here, that gap is too small

it's literally 10x worse now. you can't go 3 blocks without hitting a pothole.

If it wasn't so cold I'd take a pic of the street around the corner. it looks like this:
------------------
o.0.8...oO...9...()
@...6.**8.oO0..()
_______________

yes it looks that bad.

Ok so I know this whole pothole talk is OT and we should make a picture thread called "show us your holes" but I'm gonna go ahead and take one pic of my street about 7 blocks from my house and post it....man! its better than autocrossing cuz it adds adrenaline of going in front of oncoming traffic

If you just had your car painted, you shouldn't wax it for a few months. It actually takes a while for the paint to fully cure.

They should have told you that at the shop. Most shops that have paint with a warranty will make you wait 5-6 months and then they will wax it for free, that way it will usually extend the life of the paint quite a bit longer.

It looks nice and it's good that even Maaco will stand by their warranty.

I just recently had my trunk redone professionally and was told that with the way paint is now, I only had to wait 2 weeks or so before I could put on a coat of wax.

Very nice!

Just to humor, what is the difference between the ranks? Do they use better quality paint, more clear coat, or what?

I think the sprayer opens his eyes for more money.
Level 1 : Both eyes shut
Level 2 : One eye open
Level 3 : Both eyes open but wearing sunglasses
And so on. Then we can get into how drunk he is.
