Prototype LED Tail Light Kit

I only have a couple of these prototype sets and so many people have asked me for one that I decided Ebay was the fairest way to go. Bidding starts at $175 (under cost). Shop victoriously! LOL.

its due to the mounting. because the outer is set further back the pillow lense barkes up the light more. you could mount the inneer further back to match, but it would require trimming the housing.

I'm also assuming this doesn't include the reverse light? Obviously doesn't look like so. Thanks and bump

I wonder if you could make the reverse and the signals for them also? Probably be too much hassle....?

You can but you will need to do 97-99 trunk swap if you want to use these.

Your setup doesnt have a Potentiometer to adjust the brightness of each taillight?

With the Potentiometer I was able to match the brightness for each one, as well as others using the same type of setup.

all mine run off 1 pot, but this is definitely a good idea. i am having an application specific pwm circuit designed, so i might have 1 pot for the inners and 1 for the outers. i was wondering why mine seemed to be the only ones doing this.

That would make them match. I know without them even being lit, you can see the leds in the tail much clearer on one lens vs the other. So right off the back you can tell one will be brighter when lit if theres no way to control the brightness.
But your products are coming out nicely.

My god............+2 to Flava, they're gorgeous man, but overall the concept is insane. +10 to BlackonBlack; as soon (or if rather) as you decide to start working on 95-96 tails, you got one confirmed buyer already right here!

Correct, the pic with my tails is just with the parking lights on. If I hit the brakes they get much brighter. Also mine look a bit different because my tails are tinted.

this project has drug on and on but i will be wrapping it up soon. i am designing a new pwm board specifically for the application. after that i will start selling the production 97-99 kits and possibly start working on some 95-96 kits or doing one off custom projects.

stay tuned.

these will be $450 fully assembled. they will be going in the red/clears i have since thats the only reason i bought them and i have no other use for them (window tint maybe a good option for those who prefer tinted tails). no signal or reverse.

Best kind of tint to apply to taillights is a vinyl tint. Vinyl tint curves around the contours of taillights once you heat it up.

i do have some bare 4 row boards. they have been designed to work with a pwm but if you can take care of that then i can sell you the boards. i also have loose superflux leds, resistors, and just about any other components you may need to make whatever.

let me know.
