Mine is leaking. It is the small rubber hose on the thinner metal tube that runs parallel to the big metal filler tube.
I assume an easy fix but noticed really tight space there. I tried and can't get a good grip on it...
Any tricks to get the sucker off and put the new one on? Do i have to drop the tank ? I really hate to work on gas tanks...
BTW, what size is that rubber hose ?

Its got 2 clamps, one on each end. Once you get the clamps off you can just cut it off. Its easy if you remove the left rear wheel.

I will probably pick up some from local store.
It will take several days to get from the Dealer.

 

i would just wait till you have it off then go buy one so you know you get the right size

 

I had the same problem a while back. I just patched up the old hose with some vynil tape i had laying around. Worked fine so far. Though it was a b1tch to get to it.

 

I replaced it on Saturday. It took me only 3 min to get it off. Afer removing the clamps, I cut open and disconnected the hose in the rear, and then use a locking plier to pull it off. But it took me 1 hour or so to put the new part on. The place is really tight. After some cursing and scratching on my fingers, i got it on right. The hose i used was 5/8 ID fuel hose from Napa. The OEM one was 9/16, i believe, and i couldn't get one without waiting another week.

 

It should have taken you 5 mins to put it on. Sorry I did not tell you to WD 40 the inside of the hose before slipping it back on. But I thought You would know that.

 

I did WD40. But i should have trimmed the hose to exact length... At the beginning, i tried to put it on with about 3/4 inch longer and it really sucked.
Then another issue was that the aftermarket hose was rigid like steel, not even close to the flexibility of the OEM, which made things worse at the tight space.

 

Yep , those 2 combinations made it a pain.

 

Just replaced this on my car. What a pain. Gas milage is much better and I dont smell fuel when im backing up now.
