another 11 second maxima...new best 11.73

My fastest pass was a 11.73 @110mph. I was so mad that I missed 4th gear on my best pass. It could have been an 11.5x-11.6x looking at my other passes, I was mad.

The clutch can't really handle the new smaller pulley with the 26" slicks. It acted up all day, slipping a little here and there, and then it got to where the car would not shift. That one pass I missed 4th, then the next pass it would not go into 2nd, 3rd, or 4th so I called it quits for the day. I am not sure where to go from here.

Damnn looks like neals got some competition

Awesome times and you have an insane car. Your maxima inspired me in my good ol' NA days, especially when you hit 27XWHP with an NA 3.5. Way to raise the bar.

Now get that clutch fixed and run some mid 11's!!

YES! I've been waiting for your new 1/4 times for a while. I knew would be in the 11's eventually. Congrats. I guess the next step is N20 and 10's.

Congrats on the personal best. Are there any twin-disk clutches available for the 5-speed? Heck, even a clutchnet would be an upgrade, no?

Whoa nice run. I'm starting to detect a theme here... my time -.03 seconds = your time lol. Held true back when we were NA on street tires and now that we're both boosted.

are you still on the clutchnet 6 puck? next step up is the ACT XT PP.

No way, that clutchnet was junk. It slipped when I was on 6lbs of boost and the drivability was terrible. I have an ACT Xtreme pressure plate now with the ACT street disc. I guess I could use the clutchnet 6 puck disc with the ACT pressure plate for an all out race setup, but I still drive my car to work alot and the drivability would suck.

mardi had the XT and 6 puck - ask him about it. he said it wasn't too bad. i've got his XT now, haven't installed it yet though because I don't want to unless I have to. the ACT HD/ clutchnet 6 puck disk worked great for me and I'm hoping it'll continue to.

congrats ! i bet your tripping some of those bama boys out with a 11 second maxima. well, where ever you go it would be real fast, lol ! you could sort out the clutch and try to beat your pb, you could meet up with nealoc and you guys could put both your maximas out on the track and beat the stew out of plenty unsuspecting imports, but that would be a tough one to setup.

nice work whatever you decide to do, if im ever in alabama I want to cruise around in a 11 second street legal maxima !

Its still not that great of a track, but its the closet one to me by a long shot. I have always run some decent times there because they run year round, but the track prep is hit or miss.

No way I am ditching this 5spd now, not with the PPG 3rd and 4th gears and all the other gears peened, cryoed and REM finished.

Was thinking along these same lines due to the crazy number of clutch/flywheel options. But then I remembered his 5-speed build...

I don't know, 10's are a really long ways away. I would need to add alot more power or completely gut the car. I am on borrowed time on this stock motor anyway, so adding power is out unless I build the motor, and I am not sure I want to spend that kind of money on this car.

Unless Neal's changed his plans I doubt we'll see 10's this year from a Maxima.

Right now you could run an 11.5@122 on a really good run right?
Do you think the motor can handle a 50 shot of nitrous?
It would be cheaper than building the motor for sure but might destroy it at the same time. It's been damn exciting to watch your car progress over the years! I still remember when you broke the NA street tire record way back when.

I am not sure. Probably in the 28xx lb range without me in it, and I weigh 245lbs.

How are those ppg gears working out for you? I'm talking to ppg right now also, I want them to make an input shaft for the RS5F50A/V (1st&2nd gear). They have agreed but the price is quit steep, I would have to send them an input shaft so they copy the teeth of the reverse gear of the fwd RS5F50A/V , its the same shaft they make for the Pulsar gti-r but this 1 will have those extra teeth.
