cutting the 3 nubs on the 97-99 headlight
I am going to be putting in TL's into my 97-99 headlights. But first I need to sand down the plastic lense so it will be nice and clean. Last time, when I was doing another set of headlights, the nubs were a real pain for sanding it by hand. This time around I was thinking of cutting the 3 nubs off with an exacto knife and sanding the lense with a machine. What do you think?
PS, does anyone even know what those nubs are for?

I say cut those suckers off. and get eyelids.
What are they for? To prevent punks like you from reto'ing honda projectors in! =P
In all seriousness, post with results when done, TL's are great!
offtopic: How's your full swap coming along?

I say cut 'em off. I sanded my headlights to get them nice and clean (almost a year ago now, keep 'em clean with a plastic cleaner once every month or two and they look fantastic), but left the nubs on. I wish I had gotten rid of mine and may still do that sometime.
Oh wow...need to read at 3 am in the morning. Anyhow
The three nubs were molding nubs. I removed mine, look 100x better.
I thought you were talking about the nubs for inserting the bulbs not the lense.

Those three nubs are there to attach the headlamp aiming device on. They have nothing to do with the manufacture of the plastic lens. However, since almost no one uses them for their intended purpose, you would be safe in removing them for a cleaner looking headlamp.
