Funny noise at engagement point of clutch

Ok, I have an 03 6 speed, and when I start from a stop, I'm hearing a low pitched whine just as the clutch engages and the car starts moving. It only makes this noise sometimes, but I'm a little concerned. Any ideas on what that whining noise is?

its a known problem with a TSB...the only problem is the noise, everything else is fine. to get rid of the noise, they replace the clutch disk. mine has been doing it since i bought it and i refuse to pay to have it changed just to get rid of the sound.

Isn't that the dreaded "dying squirrel" sound??

Mine sometimes did it when it was REALLY hot, and I was in traffic...and riding or slipping the clutch - but I've never had that issue with any regularity.

Dammit Sooner....looks like we're NOT Fraternal Twins afterall~!

it really only does it if i want it to do it. i have learned to use the clutch properly so it rarely does it anymore.
