my winter tires rubbing with Illuminas
my winter tires rubbing with Illuminas
Howdy,
I tried searching, but to no avail, so I have this question. I have Dunlop Winter Sport M3s, 215/55 16 on my stock rims, with the Illuminas, and only on the passenger side front does the wheel rub. Well not a rub, if I crank the wheel, ie. backing out of a space, cranking to the right, I hear a dull thoing, like the side of the spring was struck with something, and my steering wheel pulls to the passenger side. If I come to a stop, and crank to the left (opposite side) I hear the same noise, and my I track straight again. What is rubbing, and keeping the wheel from staying true, and how am I able to undo what happened? I don't get it. The car has been aligned.
Thanks,
Jim

Are you lowered at all? The Illuminas by themselves shouldn't cause any issues. I'm using Eibachs/Illuminas and don't rub with G18's and 235/30/18 (or 225/45/18). I definitely shouldn't have any issues with the stock 215/55/16s on. I'd remove the wheel and check everything out, make sure nothing looks out of place and every bolt is snug.
