tough time installing SS brake lines.
tough time installing SS brake lines.
Thanks to the Snow in MN and the use of salt on the roads I can't get my stock lines off the hardlines. They are rusted together. I have to still do the rears but I am not going to bother with them yet. The front drivers side is short so I will get a new one from the dealer. but the pass side front I will have to cut the line and make a adapter to get it to work. I am just ranting about this and seeing if anybody has some ideas about the rears. I even have the right style wrench to take them off. WD-40 isn't helping either.
I just used the stock ones on the front on the BBK had to cut off one of the nubs to work but it works. I did get one of the rears loose and put on, but it didn't seat right on the hardline so it kept leaking so I put the stock one back on. Also what sucked was I didn't even get to change wheel studs for spacers caus eI couldn't even get those out. Bad day yesterday which will have to continue next weekend doing some double checking.
PB Blaster, or some penetrating fliuid. Soak the studs in it, then put on a OLD lug nut on the stud just screw it on a few turns then just hammer on that sucker till it comes out. My studs have been through 10 years of canadian winters, and i didnt have that hard of a time getting them out.
when i did my Z32 bbk i rounded off my line even with penetrating fluid so i had to use a pair of vice grips. just make sure the vice grips are tight, to a point where you have to put almost all your force to get them to close.
Good luck!
