if someone had to rank all the auto maximas from fastest to slowest...........

what would the order be? I'm talking about stock automatic Maximas. I'm pretty new to the maxima scene so I have no idea which ones are the fastest in order. I'm guessing the newest ones would be the fastest if they are the same weight since they have so much more hp that mine

fastest would probably be a 2k2 with the slowest being an 81
they got faster over the generations for the most part.

89-94 GXE was the slowest.. heavier than the 2nd gens and had same engine and tranny..

did the 2k2 get the 5 spd auto or was it still 4 spd? the 5 spd in the 6th gens made a HUGE difference in performance. the 4spd just sucks compared to it.

1st Gen Diesel
2nd Gen VG30E
3rd Gen VG30E
3rd Gen VE30DE/ 4th Gen VQ30DE
5th Gen VQ30DE-K
6th Gen 5at
5th Gen VQ35DE

Around there.... though I'd say it's a ridiculously close race, a drivers race if you will between the 3rd gen VE30DE and 4th Gen VQ30DE, and if you're talking high end, it would be very close between the VE30DE and the VQ30DE-K.

Just my observation from driving the majority of them, except for 1st and 2nd gens.

how do you claim the 4AT 5.5 is faster than the 5AT 6?

are 5th gens consistently running low 14s?

5.5 gens have a 250 lb weight advantage over 6th gen cars.

The thread in the 1/4 mile forum says they'd be running about the same time, high 14s.
