look at your OEM tails and note where the black glue was when you removed them. put it in the same spots on your new tails. Just use your discretion man, there's really no method to it. Think of it this way, imagine the best spots to apply the glue to reduce the chance of water entering the trunk. Put the glue wherever it may seem appropriate to you. Your other thread probably got locked not because of the post whoring but because this is a question that you probably shouldn't even need to ask, and a poster in your other thread basically outlined everything that you need to do to remove and replace the tails. Also if there is anything that you were unclear of as far as swapping tails, there are a ton of relevant threads that you could pull up with the search. Such as this one http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=69897

I was just making sure that I will be using the glue where The top of tails are because they already have the black strip on top.

well if there are already some on there, no need to put anymore. those glue are really really strong. just heat em up until there soft, and install them.

yeah, when i installed my red/clears, i actually re-used the existing glue that was there from the old ones, since there was so much of it. also i put some silicone sealant in some spots too (not the one that hardens, the one that dries kind of rubbery - makes it easier if i ever decide to remove them). you can find that at any hardware store. I lined the back side of the tails with this stuff (behind the area of the black weatherstripping and also the bottom part of the tails), basically any part of the tails that would make contact with the vehicle. When I pressed the new tails in they were snug, and I just wiped off any excess sealant that came out.
