Q about rolling max without motor/trans

I read a while ago on here that in order to roll your maxima with the engine/trans removed without causing any damge etc. you need to install the outer ends of an axel to hold the hub assembly together. My questions are...

Does this really need to be done?
What would be the most cost effective way to source these parts?
What do you call this part - Outer CV joint?

Thanks in advance for your reply!

Yes, that is technically correct. However, if you are simply rolling the car in or out of the garage or something, then I wouldn't worry. Towing it down the street though would be a different matter.

You could also buy two of these for the front wheels, if you're just moving it around your garage/driveway.
