Got my rims!

I got my 18x8 Konig Tantrums w/Nitto Extreme 555's today! Good condition, I got em used from Rod on here. I'll post pics soon, but in the mean time, the extra package of lugs that was suppose to be with em wasn't (UPS stealing my lugnuts? hehe). Can I mount these things using stock lugnuts? They're 40mm offset if that has anything to do with it.

Got em on with a little help from mAdD MAX .. Thanks bro, I think I forgot my security lugnut key at your house but no biggie

One thing .. car + 18's = SLOW. It feels like it's stock again Oh well, at least the rides good still.

Why? Are they heavier?

Yep. Tantrums aren't light, especially in the 18" size. Not only is the rim heavier, the tires are heavier because they have heavily reinforced sidewalls and heavier duty belts to resist heat expansion at high speeds. What's even worse, is that the larger the rim has more weight further out on the rim which increases inertial weight.
There are far more negative trade offs running larger rims than positive.

My rimsand tires are lighter than my stockers, so I got the best of both worlds.

Heavy? Tantrums weigh like 26lbs. Up there with Momo Arrows I guess.

Does having a lighter, bigger-than-16 wheel make much of a difference? I would have figured the energy needed to turn a 18 would be greater than a 16 regardless of the weight. Having a lighter 18 would just make it less difficult.

ereet: No problem man...glad I could have helped! Yeah you forgot your lugnut safety thing in my garage..I was putting the tools back and I saw them. Don't worry I kept them in a safe place so I'll find it for you when you need again in two weeks to change them back for winter =)

Your car looks hot man..if you had more time we could have taken pics.

No lugz

same thing happened to me when I ordered my club lineas. If I am not mistaken your rim lugs are pretty small like the ones I have see if they mailed them because they might have forgot to put them in like they did me. If not go to discount auto parts and get the gorilla locks for $20.00 the diameter is small enough to fit your rims. And you are the guy I sold my tires to up in Washington?

Errrrm, I dunno about you guys, but I've never been drunk enough to run into a curb... they're a little too stationary for me... am I missing what "curbing" means or something? I can see hitting a pothole or somethin but a CURB?
