Another slight personal best 11.69@120.49

We went to the 1/4 today, and I only made one pass. My buddy ended up breaking his transmission so we decided to load up and head home before I got to make another pass.

Not a really hard launch, but it felt good. The slip is a little hard to see.

60 ft - 1.83
330 ft - 5.051
1/8 - 7.65
mph - 94.73
1/4 - 11.69
mph - 120.49

The 1/8th mile not is not a personal best. The last pass I made where I ran a 11.73 missing 4th gear was a faster pass than this one. It still has some more in it but I am not sure I will make it to the track again before hot weather.

You trap more in the 1/8 than I do in the 1/4

setting a new PB each time you go out is the way to go.

Amazing...

still on the JWT or did you go EU? How's the fuel up top with the new pulley?

Also, what is your base Fuel pressure? FMU at all??

Again amazing runs, it's just a matter of time before you dabble in 10's. Great job again!

10.9 is a lot farther away from 11.6 than you might think.

Still on the JWT ecu. I had to hardwire the walbro pump, but it works fine now. My base fuel pressure is 51 psi. No FMU, I had Jim Wolf program the ecu for 51 psi with these 550 injectors and Z32 MAF.

There is more in it. I have yet to try a high rpm launch to get back into the 1.7x range on 60ft times. I have not been powershifting either, which can pick up another little bit. I will still be a long way from 10's. I would easily need another 100 horsepower to do it with similar 60ft times.

Nice, I'm going EU tune this weekend. 3.125"/440's. I had a 3:1 FMU in there...but not sure If I should remove it and just EU injector pulse to tune it.

I sure as hell am going to hardwire my pump before I go.

Have you thought about a cutout?

I have one. I have the cattman headers and then a 2.5" quicktime electric cutout in place of the cat followed by a crappy 2.5" non-mandrel bent exhaust.

Good job Matt. What do you think the car is ultimately capable of?

I'm hoping for a new PB myself this coming Sat if the weather cooperates. The cammed DEK actually passed an emissions test today (shocker!) so I'm good to go for the weekend. If it runs better than 12.8 it's most likely the last time you'll see a 3L time from me, the 3.5 awaits.

I think it has an 11.5x in it as it sits. Not sure if I am ever gonna do anything else with the car, I have actually been entertaining ideas of a different project car but its hard to part with the maxima after all these years.

Good luck with yours. I am sure it will run well.

Well same to you as well, here's hoping you can hit that time!

I know what you mean though, RWD is calling my name but I want to finish the Max first... 3.5 + turbo is the plan and then it's done as far as under hood goes. (but even moving on to a RWD setup I don't plan to ever get rid of the Max, I still enjoy the car and have put so much time and sweat into it...)
