What do you have your Max/i30 for??
It's my daily driver. I bought it for my wife in 99, that's why it's an auto. When I bought my wife a new car in 02, I put my old Toyota DD and the Max in the paper... the Toyota sold first. I can't justify replacing the Maxima, I like it and it's dependable. I drive like 10 miles a day to work and back. If I didn't have my Z I'm sure I would trade the Maxima on something else.
but my parents bought my first one for me then I sold it and now I have a diff one wo which catagory do I classify? and I like looks and performance and I drive to work......!!!!AHHHHHHHH kill me please I dont know what to do..........jk....................... but seriously
my uncle gave me the 95 maxima as my first car. ive been driving this baby for over 4 years
its an auto cuz it was originally bought for his wife. i not only use this as a daily driver but also for occassional canyon runs

I chose "to get to work". Like z32drifter said, I had bought my Maxima for my wife. We decided to get one of us a newer car, so the Maxima and my then Toyota Solara went up for sale. Toyota sold first and I kept the Maxima.
Me, personally I think the Maxima looks like a bar of soap. I can think of a LOT of cars that look nicer than a Maxima for a similar price. BUT, I really liked the fact that the old Gen 4 Maxima can have a larger engine swapped in relatively easily, and that Maxima's do have a great V6, both the 3.0 and 3.5 are good engines. Then the fact that they can be turbo charged or super charged and there is a decent aftermarket support for the maxima too. So, as a FWD goes, it's a good platform to work with.
And now that I have a VQ35 under the hood, and I get 27+ MPG on a regular basis, I am really satisfied with the car. Lots of power and good efficiency.
I still think it's an ugly car. But I won't ever willingly get rid of it. I'm gonna drive the wheels off of this car! (I should watch what I say, the hub bearings are shot)

After having a 94 GXE, I was looking for a bit better handling and performance. Then I saw this Merlot 5th gen on our lot and it really grabbed me, I love the color! When I had the windows tinted it looked even better. The 94 needed a trans and lots of suspension/tire work - decided to trade her in on a newer model.
I checked 'performance', but I could have just as easily checked 'looks'.
A more specific reason I have my Maxima is because I have bought a loaded Maxima the first model year of each generation since October, 1984, and as long as I feel they are the best car for my needs, I will continue to do so.
I love my 6th gen, which is virtually trouble-free, and has given me many wonderful journeys. But after checking out the '09 Maxima in the Nissan plant in Tennessee last month, and studying it close up for three hours at the Atlanta Auto Show last month, I am very excited about this movement back toward the Maxima's 'roots', and will be getting one as soon as my saleslady begins dealing from invoice (probably late this summer or early fall).
