For a 1998 Max GLE/I30 with stock suspension, what are the ride heights?

About a month ago, I switched to Illuminas from AGX's, but still mated to my stock springs. I still have my stock 15" alloys, too, but with a +2 on sidewall height.

As per a previous post, I started hearing a squeaking noise in the area of the passenger side strut whenever I press down on the fender. Some respondents suggested that I might have a defective strut, or that it might have been installed incorrectly.

That seems reasonable, and I've ordered a replacement.

But, just the other day, I swear that my front end looks like it is now riding a lot higher than it did about a month after the install. I can clearly see the bottom strut perch in the space between the tire and wheel well!

Is this a factor of the struts/shocks "settling in," or due to a defective strut?

To verify that I am not seeing things, I'd like to know what are the stock measurements of ride height; i.e., from the ground up to the bottom of the front bumper, and from the ground up to the top of the tire, and to the apex of the wheel well.

Thanx

It shouldn't really be the strut that needs to settle. It's more likely the spring would need to settle. However after a month it should have settled by now. Also you should make sure that when you are gauging the height that your car is absolutely on a flat surface. Even the slightest incline might throw your measurement off. Does the strut sit properly in the the strut mount? You might want to think about some lowering springs anyway.

Good points. I've got a set of slightly used H&R's that I need to have installed, and my plan is to have the installer check the current assembly before doing the change.
