DEK swap 80-90% complete

iam almost done my DEK swap the motor is mounted trans is in y-pipe connected all electrical connectors is on. i cranked the car and it came on but it only stays on using starter fluid i think i ran my fuel line correctly and iam not so sure about my vacuum job but IT CRANKED now all i have to do is put the axles in and set the car on the floor and figure out the fuel and if the vacuums are ran correctly

did you check out the fuel pump fuse??

i hear the fuel pump prime when i turn the key on but ill check it in the morning

eh then it probley is good. it is possible that you might have your fuel lines on backwards. i made that mistake when i did my vi swap.

ok theres 2 fuel line one is coming for the fuel filter and the other line is coming out from around the fuel filter right?>?? i got the one coming from the FF on the FPR closest to the TB and the other oner one to the FPR closest to the Radiator right???

ok iam about 95% done iam driving it right now its idling up and down but besides that it drves fine how do i stop the idling problem?

taking a motor from a 00-01 maxima (VQ30DEK) and putting it in a 95-99 Maxima thats come with a VQ30DE

TPS or vacuum leak tends to cause that problem.

also did you use the 5th gen iavc? i would pull out the sensor and check the o-ring that goes around it. did you hack off part of the sensor to make it fit?

also out of curiousity what did you do to figure out your fuel problem?

^^^^^yea i had the fuel lines switched lol but i used the 5th gen tb with the iacv i cut the plug and turned it upside down to go in but besides that the gar is running and i think i feel a diffrence??? i say that because when i did the swap i didnt get a new clutch and my old clutch is BEAT so it slips almost every time i ran outta funds while doing the swap (times are hard)

hahaha i think that happens to everyone doing the dek swap...it happened tooo me it had me sooo frustrateddd...couldnt figure out what the heck was wrong...then i took a look at my fuel lines and found it that they were on backwards hahaha....

A simple test to check for vaccum leaks...
-duct tape the the throttle body closed
-make sure all vaccum lines are either caped or running to the proper place
-take the main vaccum line in the back left side of the IM and blow

Listen for the leaks...and go from there
