Is it safe to wax..

Painted calipers?

I putting on my winter rims soon so I figured I would clean my calipers and possibly wax them? I assume it should be ok but was wondering if anyone has done this and if it should be ok?

I was wondering the same thing as I hand washed my max probably for the last time this year (temp around 60-65 deg).

Maybe Martha Stewart would know - thing she's an .org member?

i dont think any wax could withstand the heat build up on the calpier from braking. If anything they would heat up the wax and get all the brake dust mixed in and probably leave a nasty mess behind to clean up.

I say leave as is and re-spray in the spring like most of us do.
Well i do anyways

I was just wondering, this will be my first winter with mine painted, and I went through some lengths to get them how they are... I would have to cut my hands off if I was told I'll have to do it again.

Well the reason I wanted to wax them was for easy cleaning and protect them. We get a lot of sand and salt on the roads here. My car is going to take a beating this winter!
