Cant get O2 sensor off!

So I ordered a new rear O2 sensor for my 98 auto and today I have the day off so I figured I would change it but I can not get it off! I tried this sensor wrench my father gave me but it seems a hair too big and slides around on there and I dont want to strip it and I cant get an open ended wrench in there. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

Try a large adjustable wrench and some Screwloose from CRC or WD-40. This worked with mine. It may also depends on which O2 it is.

I bought an 02 sensor socket as well and NEVER use it. What I use on my aftermarket y pipe (might not work on stock because of all the heat sheild flanging) is a 7/8's open ended wrench and a hammer to loosen it initially. After that they always seem to unscrew fairly easily for me.

I had a heck of a time on my '97. After rounding the hex, I heated the bung with a torch and used a vise-grip pliers. Use anti-seize on the new one.

When I was putting my catback on we had the same issue, what we did was we took the wrench and smacked it with a hammer, and a few good smacks it gave out
