Lowerhalo ran off with my money...

I sent him some money back in early MARCH and still have not received my parts.

I waited patiently for over a month until I got pissed and told him I wanted my money back, and I still have not heard back from him since. I even tried sending him an email but that doesn't work either. I checked his activity and he has been active since my last PM, so I know he knows what's going on...

I have also been in contact with other forum members and they say he has done the same thing to them.

I just wanted to make everyone aware not to buy from him, but I don't think it matters since it doesn't look like he's coming back.

I dealt with lowerhalo also, bought a cat converter for $50 bucks. Took about a month of badgering him with PMs but I finally got my money back. He told me too that he recently had a kid and didnt have time to work on the car.

no excuse. If you sell something, send it out as soon as you get payment. If you can't do it, then don't bother selling stuff. Plain and simple.

I can also say Ive been waiting for parts since early march, said hed take some time due to family then came back and kept saying he was busy, cant ship the parts etc.

After an email a week and a pm, I finally said I know I wont see the money again. If there is a way we could find him it would be apreciated.

I've sent numerous emails and PM's and even a few emails through PayPal requesting my $400 back, but still haven't heard anything.

I can understand it taking a week or two to send some parts out, but no response in 4 months?
Even if you have a kid, sure it might take a bit longer, but I'm sure it doesn't take that long to say "oh ya, these people sent me money, I should send parts, or money back, or at least an email".

i'm sure the kid is just an excuse. Probably doesn't even have one but uses that as something that people might sympathize with

This is rediculous. 4 months??? And to so many people being led on.

Until Lowerhalo ships all parts to everyone involved, or returns all money owed, IMO his avatar should be changed to the "Do not buy from, Scammer" avatar I've seen around the org to protect others from being burned/mislead.

^^^ agreed but sadly most of the time the account is empty in the case of a scammer. Not saying thats the case here, but sure seems like its a problem, I just wouldnt be surprised if the account is zeroed out.

your actually correct. But has anyone ever actually got anything from him. More and likely it might be empty and if he's smart he might have changed his paypal account already. If not y'all could file a claim and once he makes any money at all, paypal would instantly deduct it.

Actually Paypal might take out the money anyways, leaving him with a negative balance. Awhile back when i used to use the E-Check option before i got my credit card, it took out the payment twice and left me in the hole 400$. So request your money back, see if they can get it back, who cares if it leaves him in the hole, not anyones problem but his.

Hopefully you guys all get your money back, or atleast the parts you paid for.

already tried paypal. no luck

Hi.

I already tried paypal. They said they don't cover this type of transaction. Anyone else have better luck with PayPal?

I have an idea. If all of us who sent money through PayPal send a collective email to PayPal, we can position it as Wire Fraud. Then they will have to work on it. If it is one or two cases, they can probably ignore it. You know how to contact me.

"Whoever, having devised or intending to devise any scheme or artifice to defraud, or for obtaining money or property by means of false or fraudulent pretenses, representations, or promises, transmits or causes to be transmitted by means of wire, radio, or television communication in interstate or foreign commerce, any writings, signs, signals, pictures, or sounds for the purpose of executing such scheme or artifice, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both. If the violation affects a financial institution, such person shall be fined not more than $1,000,000 or imprisoned not more than 30 years, or both. "

What kind of transaction is that. I dont see why they wont act and help you, afterall you sent money thru them. It has always worked for me, but never the the full amount due to the person using some.

I'm sure paypal has his info so why not try to file the claim and if that doesn't get you anywhere, maybe file report with local police in his area (fraud/stolen money).

All in all its absurd that people have to go through this, like we gotta scheme on a way to get money back for items never recieved.

Please file a report at https://ic3.gov/default.aspx.
I already did and reference this thread. If they get more filings on the same thing, maybe they will do something about it.

Lowerhalo hasn't been on in 3 months. He obviously has no intentions of making good on his deals.

Can you of you mods change his avatar as I suggested above and ban this guy so no one else gets ripped off?? Thank you.

Found a cluster of Aaron Lawsons and a bunch of addresses and a few phone numbers. If anybody is in the area look for a blue 4th gen (Or not, car did have a ton of miles on it) and a Beigeish white Ford RV. Looks like it's next to a corigated shed too. I can only figure he's in the Knoxville area as the parts car he was stripping had a Sevier county plate on it. Looks like he may be active in the WoW and Warhammer community too, his charater name is darkwarlordd yes two "d"s.
