no air coming out of dashboard?

When i put on the air (be it heat or AC) (which my ac doesnt work anyway).. it doesent come out of the dashboard. The air only comes out of the holes ontop of the dashboard aiming at the windshield, and the holes by the pedals, but no matter how many buttons i push or switches i flip it doesnt seem to get me anywhere.. air just will not come out of the holes aiming towards my face.. anyone know why? i'm planning on recharging my AC, so i'd like it to hit my face as well as my feet and windshield.. lol.. also i dont seem to be getting any power to the cigarette lighter, and its not the fuse for the lighter because i checked that.. maybe that has something to do with it?

thanks for the help in advance

-Joe

Could be your actuator isnt moving the door to open flow to the dash vents

i was reading the fsm for the heat and a/c part, and i realized that i never looked at a fsm in my life.. theres so many options that i dont know what diagnostic corresponds with my car.. to me its all a jumbled mess.. and i dont want to start messing with and disconnecting stuff and get in way over my head. Any way this information could be simplified? or could i ignore any parts? thanks for your help..

i was thinking that you might want to consider taking it to someone if you are not familiar with checking circuts. On the other hand , the fsm shows pretty detailed pictures of how to check them. just take a little bit and read and re-read the procedure. my suggestion is at least look at page 37 and see where the componets are and check to see if a plug has been knocked lose or something simple like that.also while you are there, take a look at each plug and match it with the picture in the fsm, if it makes since to you then check them with a multi meter.just for kicks you might also check all of your fuses.

like I said befor, you might want to get some help with it.
hope this helps
