Plz confirm: Factory battery ground cable not needed after Big 3

My OEM battery is finally giving up, and has started to leak some acid between the caps (even burnt my new Racingline battery tie down!). I bought an Optima Red 75/35 and with the spacer on the bottom, my factory ground cable won't reach the new post.

But since I have the Big 3 done with Stinger 0 ga wiring, I technically should be fine since current flows through the path of least resistance correct? I am also using a Stinger battery terminal so for now the factory cable is taped up and put to the side. Thanks
