I'm having problems with my Spec Stage1 clutch. It doesn't seem to grab right when I shift hard, therefore, I wanted to find out if adjusting the grab geight will help. I keep hearing different things about adjusting the 4th gen clutch. Can anyone please tell me how to do it and if I should even bother. It does grab about 2/3 of the way up so I think it may help me...

 

huh I was not aware that there was an adjustment on a hydraulic clutch system........bump for a good answer to this question.

 

yeah, my clutch grabs near the bottom of the pedal travel and I want to adjust it further up. I read about adjusting the play in the pedal but my play was fine. Looking for an answer too.

 

Yeah, curious to see what teh smart ones have to say. My clutch pedal has alot of slop...

If for some reason you have air in yours...then yes. If you haven't messed with it, and there's no reason air would be in there, then no. Bleeding the clutch is a PITFA. Avoid it at all costs.

 

if the pedal has a lot of free play the only thing you can do is adjust the pedal with the master cylinder screw thing... THATS ALL..


Iv messed around with this for a long time and cant figure out any way of fixing the problem.. my clutch is brand new oem and it engages at about 70% to the top..


the only real thing you can do is bleed it.. i suggest getting a SS clutch line it makes it too easy to bleed... the stock is a piece of s.hit..

 

It's a very very fine adjustment found in either FSM or Haynes. I'll look to find it, 1/8 of a turn or less made a difference. Mechanic didn't have a clue how to do it, two or three shoulder side adjustments and its right where it should be on stock setup. It was under dashboard on rear of firewall. Do you have any extra carpet or anything else restricting travel to hit floor bottom for zero/measurement? That may be for freeplay measurement, I'll check over the weekend and update this reply.
