Gee.....Altima SE running 14 flat?......maybe....just maybe.......

Hmmm....seems like a legit guy....just gotta see the timeslip. Over on altimas.net(which seems to have matured with richer members-those that can afford new se's.....not 93gxe's ) there is a guy that fabed up an aem intake from a 93integra to his new Altima 3.5SE. He said he ran 14 FLAT at his local track....he's going for 13's.

If he can post a pic i'd be thrilled.

According to my two magazines car&driver, and Motor trend. 02' Altima 3.5 se's seem to run 14.5 - 15 bone stock..

Good lawd almighty that thing surely is not slow. I am sure that that same car with an intake and full exhaust will run 13's under the tutorship of THE BLUE

Car and Driver also tested a stock 96 automatic maxima at 16.4 in the 1/4. My stock 95 will run 15.4. I think the Atly could run 14.0 with the right conditions...

anything is possible with a great seasoned drag racer...

what Car Magazines need to include when the drag a car is.. weight of driver, weight of car, tire pressure, elevation, barometric pressure, 60ft times, 1/8th mile times...

that way you can accurately compensate for the magazine eff ups..

who knows.. the magazines could have tested a fully loaded SE and the driver could be 250 lbs..

this guy may have took out his spare tire, took out the back seat.. he could weigh 90 lbs..

lots of things play a factor during 1/4 mile times.. you would be surpised the little things you do how much they make a diff..

I test drove the Altima today and I must say it seems that the car should be able to turn some very quick 1/4 mile times. I was much impressed. The car had crazy power.

I was watching Autoweek on Speed Vision and they tested a 5-speed Altima with a 0 to 60 time of 6 flat and a quarter mile time of 14.0 at 99mph.. It aired last week..

Actually, all the magazines correct for conditions. Most of them test with a full tank of gas and 30lbs of testing equipment. If we all corrected our ets for conditions, we had have ton of 14 second Maximas in here.

Sweetness...now I'm really looking forward to the 350z :ROOL::

0-60 < 5.5 ?
1/4 mi. < 14.0 @ 100+ ?

Seems realistic based on those numbers and what we already know about the Z...maybe even closer to low fives.

So if I corrected my best stock time for conditions, it would have been a 14.6 instead of a 14.715.

I have no doubt a good driver could run a 14.0 with a stock Altima, given the right conditions.

I personally think the car looks good on the exterior. The interior is too plain for me though. But anyways give it some time I'm sure the car will grow on you. When the 5th Gen Max's came out I was like what the hell did Nissan do that thing is hideous. But guess what I drive now , yup a 2K1.

I know and you didn't like it. I wanted to hear Dana's opinion. I haven't had a chance to test drive it, but I probably even won't bother because I got my eye laid on something else
