you're taking your interior out? which part?
well dude. first time is always the scariest! haha. the main thing is to go not expecting much and to just have a good time.
deflating the front tires usually helps a little.
well launching just takes lots and lots of practice. first off....don't do burnouts on your street tires. i used to do this
....and it makes the tires feel like hard plastic....it doesn't help your wheel spin control at all! haha. a nice little spin to clean the dirt or whatever off the tires is good enough.
launching you will just have to get the feel for it. you can just drop the clutch from 2400 ish or so but its not the best...its the easiest though.
i've made about 80 passes since last fall and struggled with launching. this season i've tried to practice slipping the clutch. this method feels much nicer to the drivetrain and usually ends up in better 60' times!
what i normally do is hold the RPM about 3000-3500 ish and once the last light turns yellow i disengage the clutch about half way. then after about a second or so i let the clutch all the way out and floor it. what you have to do is monitor the clutch and throttle. you will get the feel for it. its not too impressive but i've gotten a 2.09 a few times on street tires with slipping the clutch.
its hard to get used to slipping the clutch because you want to react and get going as fast as you can, haha.... but if you focus and try to think about what your doing you'll do just fine!
and make sure you go on the last yellow light not the green. don't worry....you won't red light!
good luck man! have fun!!
edit: just noticed your picture....do you have your OEM wheels? put those back on the front and that will save some time.

oh my bad man...thought it was the first time! haha
yeah man our maxima's are nice and torquey so its rough to get traction! good luck slipping the clutch! high 2.1's and 2.2's are good man. shoot for that!

the sidewall heigh does play a small roll in what PSI you oughta run. with a really small sidewall, letting air out will result in cupping more quickly, so you should let less air out than if you had taller sidewall tires. i dont know what sidewall height you are running, but if its something like a 235/40 then 27-28 ish is what seemed best for me, as compared to the 24 i run on my stockers (225/50)
I went to the track tonight with my 05 Altima SE-R 6-spd. Best time I ran under 85 degree weather and HIGH humiditiy with basically no mods (CAI w/ larger filter, Stock SE-R exhasut, and lowering springs) I ran a 14.6 @ 97 mph w/ a 60ft at 2.3 secs. I dont warm up my tires, just drop the pressure to 28 psi (stock 18" forged aluminum wheels sitting on 225/45 pirelli pzero nero tires)
