front driver side power window messed up

So Yesterday, I was pulling up my front driver side window, and I heard this weird creaking noise, and ever since, my power window on that side has been getting jammed and stuff. It will work alright when I go down (and using the little Auto function where when I press down a little harder, it opens that window by itself all the way).... but on the way up, its either super slow or gets jammed and I have to like pull up the glass with my hands and then the motor will slowly pull it up agian.

Is my power window motor on that side broken? how do i fix it?

Why don't you try taking the door panel off and see if something is catching or getting in the way when you are raising the window? If you take off the paneling, there's just plastic covering the guts of the door, so it's not a big job...

its probably the motor, well actually the "gear" that connects the motor to the regulator. the "gear" is a hard rubber that breaks and spins innside of its self so that with the weight of the glass it goes down, but that weight going up becomes a problem. as stated above pull the cover and look (allthough you wont be able to see what I am talking about untill you pull the motor and reg out.
once you have the door panel off hook the window switch back up and work the window up and down and you will probably be able to feel the "gear " slipping on itself(popping )
hope this helps

How much does a new motor cost (just for the drivers side window)? Also, how do I take off the door panel? I'm kinda new at this stuff lol

Im parting out my car, if you need anything. Check the tracks and motor. Sometimes you need to lube everything with silicon grease.

OP, it might be the track. I think my driver side is starting to go, it goes up really slow sometimes, and its the same with going down. Might have to hit the junkyard soon.

happened on my 92. i replaced the motor with a cheap one but the arms were like tin foil and bent. then the switch went and i replaced it from the junkyard. not too difficult to do.

Similar kind of thing happened to me in the pass. side window. Here is what the problem was, maybe this will help you out: When you take off the door panel and expose the little plastic sheet that sticks on to the actual metal of the door, there is one piece of styrofoam that sits in a groove on the bottom right side which is oddly shaped. This little piece was getting in the way of the window going all the way down so when you tried to force it, eventually the glue on those 2 clips on the motor that hold the window in place got too weak and the window started popping out, but would pop back in when you raised it back up. After a while my window just popped out of the clips completely and fell into the door on the highway, which was the point when I figured all this out. The motor/clips got stuck on the side of the window so you have to move it all the way down first and then pull the window back up before reinstalling. I suggest using some super glue and removing that styrofoam piece if this sounds like whats happening to you.

ugh... once you verify that its the rubber gear ,then the fix is to replace the motor. sorry that wasnt more clear.
