I have the 300zx set up on my 6th gen and was wondering why my calipers make a creaking noise with applying the brakes. Not a noise when stopping the rotors but just stationary and a noise when the calipers are engaged. Is there a way to grease them and if so where and what to use?

 

It's the pads sliding against the slider pins that hold them in place.

Nissan puts a small package of grease- orange or red- in the caliper rebuild kits that works great for stopping the noise.
You might try a coating of anti-sieze on the pins, but I'm not sure what will actually work- mine never had that problem fortunately.
(Be sure not to get any grease or anti sieze on your pads!)

 

Thanks Matt. Any particular brand, product you recommend. I had figured as much about the pins. Sounds like I have a Studebaker.

EDIT picked up the permatex caliper lube and lubed the hell out of it. Its comming from the pistons. Everything brakes fine though. Should I worry about a rebuild?
