Steering Wheel CD Controls

I can control my cruise from my steering wheel and I noticed the other side had a piece that pops off. Is there anyway to install the buttons so I can control my CD player from the steering wheel? Even if I had to use something off the I30?? Just wondering because that is a nice option.

Thanks

I don't think so mate .... I could be wrong, but I don't think that was really an option on any 4th gen. I think that slot is there for right hand drive cars (UK, S Africa, Ausi, Jap). I think Nissan just made the mold once instead of doing one for each cut out needed.

On the other hand, you could make something and just run a wire (would require some skill I think) or use IR / Bluetooth and mount it there. Or ... get a Z steering wheel and play with it, it has the buttons built in.

The Q45 has the same steering wheel and BOSE head unit as my 99 does. The Q has the stereo control built into the right side of the steering wheel right where we have the pannel.

I doubt the Maxima steering wheel is wired for the control, but I bet the plug for the control is indeed on back of our BOSE head units.

I was actualy looking into doing this for my iPod but there is no way to rum the wires. I then looked at using the cc buttons that are already there. if you look at a cc wiring diagram u will see its possibe to use to of the buttons but its difficult to do...I wish I could find another way without getting a different steering wheel.

you can use the q45 control, the maxima is not wired for it. BUT!! there is a specfic part that you need to get to make the steering wheel control interface with the deck. ill look for the part. i am in the process of doing this on my car.
