Factory Alarm and Intermittent wipers stopped working

lets keep it short... came back from work and it was drizzling a lil bit so turned my wipers to intermittent, and they wont work, drop it down to the second position(normal speed) they are working, go to the third one(fast speed), they are working, go back to intermittent, nothing...
come home, get out of the car, tried to lock it with the remote... guess what...
remote wont do **** at all... security light stopped blinking too...already check all the fuses and everything looked good....any one have any idea what is goin on...
tnx

pull out the fsm and trace the wiring diagram to the point where they have a connection in common, then find that connection in the car and trace back manually to the battery and somewhere along the way you will probably find a damaged wire

Do clock and vanity (visor) lights work? If not fuse #40 7.5AMP is blown.
Is there anything else that is not working?
Both intermittent wiper operation and anti-theft system are controlled by the body control module something may be going on with that.

Have you done any work on the electrical system lately? Does the car have any add-on or aftermarket wiring/electronics? Problem just started out of the blue?

Check fuse #19 7.5 Amp very closely remove it and look at it. That fuse is used for the theft and wiper circuits.

Have you checked under hood fuses by battery, there is a 7.5Amp on there also a possibility. How are you checking fuses? Visually? If you are checking fuses with a fuse tester while the fuse is in the fuse holder? That is not reliable.

have u done a swap from normal to intermittent? Your locks, and wipers are controlled by your BCM(just looked through the Haynes electrical).

Allright try fuse(these are for power locks 97-99, 95-96 is different) #40 7.5a, yel/blu wire from bcm to key switch, from key switch to fuse block its yel/blk(key switch) #12 7.5a pnk/grn from bcm to fuse block(IGN) Fuse #56 7.5a pnk from bcm to fusible link box(bat). For your wiper, fuse #19 7.5a, ppl from bcm to itermittent on the wiper stalk. I guess if all else fails, try to unplug it and plug it back in. If you need a new BCM, I got 2 for sale. I can check them to see if they work if you need one.

Glad to know. Good thing you didnt buy a new one. Sometimes thats all it takes is to unplug it and plug it back in, it resets it, and in your case it all worked out.
