Has any of the 00vi people done this? Is the valve cover a direct swap?

Yes, assuming you fashion up a way to bolt the coils down (or don't bolt them down at all).

FWIW, I have DE-K front coils on my car, and they line up with one of the bolt holes, so you should be able to bolt DE coils to a DE-K front valve cover.

Which, as far as I remember, is what can be done with the 00VI swap on the rear valve cover also.

on the DEK motor there are two bolt holes above where the vq30de valve cover is located. on the part of the engine where you would screw in the normal DE valve cover
