98 Maxima Day-run light dead

My day run lights I had the impression never burn out have.

I'm certain these are not the standard halogen lights that I manually turn on and have already replaced.

These lights are on constantly when the car is running.

What are the model and specs and where to purchase?

I thought they were the high beams on a lower output??? But I may be wrong. You could check to see if your high beams work. Have you checked your fuses? I think there is a fuse for the DRL.

There is no fuse for DRL.

I checked the Haines manual and nothing about the high beam/DRL lights,
and the high beams are working.

I went to Canadian Tire and the kid behind the counter didn't know.

Will check with dealer tomorrow.

Check the FSM.

"The headlamp system for vehicles in Canada contains a daytime light unit. The uit activates the high beam headlamps at approximately half illumination whenever the engine is running...."

Just had to fake my DRLs for federal inspection.

left side if you are looking at it from the front. Its a little black box right by the winshield res, there are two plugs going into it. Mine doesnt work either, but I like it better for it to be off during the day anyways. Grab one from a junkyard and save yourself well over $100. Heres a pic for reference:
