I've got a minor squeak/rattle in my '01...it seems to be coming from the trim panel around the shifter and the area where it meets the storage compartment in front of it. What's the best way to get rid of this? It's minor, but annoying.

 

It might possibly be wires tapping around behind the ash tray and lighter. That or there's loose change down there.

If its the plastic from the shift surround rubbing on the colsole plastic, you might try just taking it apart to clean it. (use a towel/flat head screw driver to pry up on the colsole part that surrounds the shifter plastic (between the cupholders and shift surround). That should get you to the source of the squeaks at least.
