Tail lights out, no heat gun.......NOW WHAT?!
Lay the lens up against something and put the dryer on high and let it set right up against the lens on about 3" sections for about five minutes a piece. Then test it after, you have unscrewed the few screws. Pull on it little and then it should seperate. I only pulled mine apart just enough to pop the yellow out
I also see you have Eurolites. I got mine from AEI also from ebay. I have the #1157,#194,#9004,#H3 and I love them they look real good. Nice with a hint of blue. You have a nice webpage also.
This project sucks
I'm trying to decide right now if its worth the trouble. On a positive note, I did install blue 194's in my guages today. I'll trade someone in the Boston area, I'll put in your guage bulbs, you put in my clear tails.. hahaha. Okay, back to the hair dryer...

dont do it
dont do it..thats my opinion on the matter, i tried so hard and it dint work. every time i would heat up one section and go to the next the first would be resolididfied, i also chipped both of the lenses... i would just get some tape and cover up the outside with like pinstripes or sumtin else like that...good luck either way
THANKS to both of you
I just put the light back in the car. I gave up. But thats a great step by step you gave, Doug, I'm sure others will use it. I was under the misconception that the heat was to get the orange out, not to get the housing apart. I really want to do this mod, but just don't have the patience right now.
I have the parts, so I will do it soon now that I know what is involved. I need to track down a heat gun I think.
And YES, I love my Eurolite bulbs, they look great. Adam at AIE is good to deal with.

You have to be PATIENT with the heat gun... took me about 45 minutes on my 1st lens... Don't pry hard on a small section! You'll have to get most of the glue hot to be able to separate it.

Hey man pic 1 of 5 is tight that looks real good. Did you park by a street light and take a pic of the light reflecting of of the paint it is Pebble Biege Metallic right? That is the same color I have. COOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with metallic, your ride looks phat! About the red/clear tails, I used a heat gun which worked the best but make sure you don't consentrate on one area for too long or the lense will melt. Good luck!
It's amazing how a wide angle lens will make your>>
car look so much faster... just like DECALS...hehe
Yes the shot was taken at night... on a tripod on for many seconds and a handheld flash set to low illuminating the car from multiple angles during the shot.

I was so pumped up to do this myself, but you have to have the right tool for the job I guess...Where did you guys get a heat gun anyways?
