Removing Dealer Badge

Hey guys!

Has anyone removed a dealer badge from their Max? I have one on mine and I'm looking to remove it without damaging the paint and clear coat. The badge is really more of a sticker. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I've read the best way is to soak/dip dental floss in dish-soap and then slide it underneath.

On other cars I just pulled them off and used WD-40 to remove the remaining sticky residue.

Anyways, it's a pain in the **** and that's why I DEMANDED the dealer NOT to put ANYTHING on my car. They got away with an Advertisement license plate for about 4-days before I noticed it.

Be carefull, in the past some dealers actually drilled (aka rivioted) their logo's on. Typically they are stickers now. Follow Ices recommendations. After you WD40 put some wax on it. The WD40 removes the wax. Btw... the stuff works great for bug and tar removal too.

Try Goo-Gone....orange citrus type stuff that is awesome for removing stickers and other goop.

man I cand stand when the dealer puts decals and badges on the cars they sell!! whats crazy is the amount of new cars I see w/ em on there..cars that are like 25k and up and the people driving them dont even care! my dealer wanted to put their dealership badge on my car in return for cheaper oil change and I said hell no! I mean why the hell should I advertise for a dealership for free when I paid over 20k for the car in the first place... .....if you do use goo gone or wd40 to get the sticky off just make sure you wash it off with soapy water right after word.

Thanks.

Well I got the dealer badge off today. I just peeled the dealer sticker off with my finger and used some teflon lube spray to remove the leftover sticky residue. Then I followed up with some sealer and polish and all is looking good. Thanks for the info!!

Just a Little Hint

Use your wifes/girlfriends hair dryer and blow off angle for about two minutes. Pops right off and cleanup with any silicone spray is quick. If its been on a long time and you can see a slight letter or wording, use a little safecut by Waxshop and boom its gone. Safecut is a super mild abrasive for plastics and much finer than normal polishes. Use on headlamps and taillamps to make them sparkle new!

Mine came right off during the car wash. I guess I had it a little pre-soaked. Damn, I still have dealer's license plate frame on my front bracket.

i'm glad i didn't get a dealer sticker on my car, i got this chrome metal thing instead. it had some weak *** tape on it, i just pulled it off the first day i got it, can't tell it was ever there. i'm glad i didn't get that pin striping stuff on my car. i live in oklahoma, and we don't have front license plates, and when i bought my car, this goof at the dealer was about to drill a hole into the bumper for that plastic plate holder, i almost slapped him, lucky i was there to see him try to do it(my dad was signing for the car at the time, i was just wandering around). why do these dealers do that? put the plastic license plate holder on the car, even though the state doesn't require front plates?
